Hca Teamwork Assignment Essay Example for Free

Hca Teamwork Assignment Essay Jennifer Planz As a delegated leader I am asked to solve an issue that is currently affecting the billing department of the facility I work in. The billing department need codes and important that they are not receiving. The doctor needs to be reimbursed for medical care on a patient. The facility I work in needs me to get this done in order to speed up production. This leaves me in charge of picking a team and promoting effective teamwork in order to resolve the current conflict. I will choose the members of my eam by finding individuals who are all trying to achieve the same objective. In this case, it would be the billing specialist, the doctor, myself and a communication specialist to make it go more smoothly. All of us are involved in this conflict on one way or another and need to participate together in order for all parties to be satisfied. I will promote effective teamwork by having the communication specialist involved. Teamwork can also be promoted by establishing ground rules for all team players. Making sure all players knew the nature, importance and cause of the conflict problem. Making sure everyone was aware that conflict is a natural part of life is a way to promote effective teamwork. Also offering social support, workshops, and providing leadership training. Offering social support can help soothe feelings and encourage more social support. It also reduces the risks and causes of caregivers being stressed, burned-out, and feelings of isolation. Offering workshops to employees for building their skills and help them to assume new roles in organization and managing conflict that is involved in with change and teamwork. Leadership training can vary on a range of topics. The ones I like that I would use are managing conflict, handling complaints, hospitality, and writing effective memo and releases. I feel this would be good starting training sessions for soon to be leaders or those already in leadership positions. Communication skills are important because they affect the performance of every employee and not Just leaders. The basic communication skills are both essential and necessary to effectively care for someone. Training and sessions are a great way to enhance or upgrade those skills in order to perfect these skills and become a better professional.

Internet - Ethics of Publicizing Security Vulnerabilities :: Free Essays Online

The Ethics of Publicizing Security Vulnerabilities   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚     Ã‚   Abstract:   In 1988, Robert T. Morris Jr. released the Internet Worm Virus, which essentially shut down the entire internet for a day.   Morris wrote the virus using known vulnerabilities in the UNIX operating system.   When these vulnerabilities are discovered, should they be publicized or kept secret to prevent further attacks?   These issues relate closely to the concepts of open source versus proprietary software development.    In 1988, Robert T. Morris Jr., a Cornell graduate student, released a computer virus.   The goal of this virus was to propagate itself across the Internet and to infect as many machines as possible in as little time as possible.   The Internet Worm, as it came to be known, was very successful; it infected millions upon millions of machines and essentially shut down the entire Internet for roughly twenty four hours. As a result of his creation and release of the Internet Worm, Robert Morris spent years in courts and paid significant amounts of money in lawyer and court fees, but never went to prison for his actions.   The Internet Worm case brings up an extremely important issue that increases in importance each year as the world becomes increasingly networked via the internet and through other means; should people have access to information about vulnerabilities in computer systems, or should these vulnerabilities remain secret?      Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   At the time that Robert Morris wrote the Internet Worm, there were known vulnerabilities in the UNIX Operating System's Finger command, and in the Sendmail Daemon, the program responsible for transmitting electronic mail from one machine to another.   Anyone who had some amount of expertise in the UNIX Operating System knew of these weaknesses, yet no one had made an attempt to fix the problem.   Robert Morris apparently viewed this situation as a matter that needed attention, which many people speculate as his reason for creating the Internet Worm.   His ingenious virus used these vulnerabilities to attack systems and to propagate itself across the internet.   One fact is definitely known.   This is the fact that the Internet Worm gave many thousands of computer experts a strong reason to fix these vulnerabilities.    It is necessary to realize one important fact about the internet worm virus; it was not totally malicious.   That is, Morris did not write the virus so that it would try to do any damage to the hardware or software of the machines it infected.

Hollywood’s influence on global culture Essay

1.In what ways do Hollywood movies affect national culture outside of the United States? First, Hollywood is a famous and great brand all round the world and it is true that it has a lot of good movies which left praise word. Thus, it has a lot of fans. Second, Hollywood is good at creation and do well and firstly using new technology. It can attack a lot of audience. What aspects of U.S. Culture do Hollywood films promote around the world? I think two aspects are obvious. One is the language. More and more people around the world learn the English from watching Hollywood movies, not only the word, but the intonation. And the other is American Sprite. We can see many characteristics from the movies, like freedom and strong. Can you observe positive effects of Hollywood movies on the world cultures? At first, American culture is an very important part of the world cultures and Hollywood movies is a stand of American culture. Then, Hollywood movies also involve many other countryâ€⠄¢s cultures. Though some of cultures in the movies are distorted, they still introduce some cultures to other countries. Last, sometimes Hollywood movies describe the future of the world and it can bring the development of technology. 2.In what ways have movies influenced managerial task, company activities, and other ways of doing business around the world? It is easy to be a fashion which appears on the movies. For example, the style of taking tasks can influence the officers. Many things will be pop and the company which is similar with it can develop the industry about the pop things. Even the new job the actors doing can bring the fashion and many people will do it. Can watching foreign films be an effective way of learning how to do business abroad? Justify your answer. I don’t think it will be an effective way. Movies must be exaggerated and some stories can not take place in the reality or it can bring the negative influence. And foreign firms focus more on the situations in that country. It will bring a cross-culture risk. The way used in the movies don’t work in this country. 3.What factors determine the high demand for Hollywood films? Some countries have few movies recourse and they produ ce limited located films in a yeas which can not satisfy the demand for the audience. And the quality of Hollywood films are better than it of the movies in some countries. What’s more, some people have already used to watching Hollywood films. Why are they so popular in Europe, Japan, Latin America and elsewhere? The quality is quite important. And the story and creation do  develop the situation Hollywood films are popular all around the world. Why are foreign films so little demanded in the United States? American film firms produce the enough firm to satisfy the customers’ demand. And the protectionism of the U.S. also influence the demand of foreign films in the U.S. What can foreign filmmakers do to increase demand for their movies in the United State? Improving the quality of the film can help. And the story about that country will help be popular, but the story can not be too located but accepted by some people. 4.Do movies constitute a separate category, or should they be treated like any other good? I don’t agree that the movies should be treated like other good. Like minister said that movie is intrinsic to the nations that create them. Protectionism is necessary but we can have less limited rules and do more communication about culture. Given the nature of movies, should a country shield and support its own film industry via protectionism? Are there better ways to maintain and enhance a home-frown film industry? No, producing high-quality movies is a better way. I think the people in one society are more willing to accept the movies in that area because they can accept them more easily. If there are two movies with the same quality from the Hollywood and that country, i believe more people will choose the movie produced in that country. Creation can catch the focus of youth’s attention.

6 Tips to Liven Up Your Lectures

Many graduate students find themselves at the head of the classroom, first as teaching assistants and later as instructors. However, graduate study often doesn’t teach students how to teach, and not all grad student instructors first serve as TAs. Instead, most graduate students find themselves instructing a college class with little to no teaching experience. When faced with the challenge of teaching despite little experience, most grad students turn to the techniques they have experienced as students. The lecture method is a common teaching tool. A poor lecture is painful for both students and the instructor. Lecturing is a traditional method of instruction, perhaps the oldest form of instruction. It has its detractors who argue that it is a passive means of education. However, the lecture is not always passive. A good lecture is not simply a list of facts or a reading of the textbook. An effective lecture is the result of planning and making a series of choices — and it need not be boring. 1.  Dont Cover It All Exert restraint in planning each class session. You will not be able to cover all of the material in the text and assigned readings. Accept that. Base your lecture on the most important material in the reading assignment, a topic from the reading that students are likely to find difficult, or material that doesnt appear in the text. Explain to students that you wont repeat much of the material in the assigned readings, and their job is to read carefully and critically, identifying and bringing questions about the readings to class. 2.  Make Choices Your lecture should present no more than three or four major issues, with time for examples and questions. Anything more than a few points and your students will be overwhelmed. Determine the critical message of your lecture and then remove the adornments. Present the bare bones in a succinct story. Students will absorb the salient points easily if they are few in number, clear, and coupled with examples. 3.  Present in Small Chunks Break up your lectures so that they are presented in 20-minute chunks. Whats wrong with a 1- or 2-hour lecture? Research shows that students remember the first and the last ten minutes of lectures, but little of the intervening time. Undergraduate students have a limited attention span — so take advantage of it to structure your class. Switch gears after each 20-minute mini-lecture and do something different. For example, pose a discussion question, a short in-class writing assignment, a small group discussion, or problem-solving activity. 4.  Encourage Active Processing Learning is a constructive process. Students must think about the material, make connections, relate new knowledge to what is already known, and apply knowledge to new situations. Only by working with information do we learn it. Effective instructors use active learning techniques in the classroom. Active learning is a student-centered instruction that forces students to manipulate the material to solve problems, answer questions, examine cases, discuss, explain, debate, brainstorm, and formulate questions of their own. Students tend to prefer active learning techniques because they are engaging and fun. 5.  Pose Reflective Questions The simplest way of using active learning techniques in the classroom is to ask reflective questions. These are not yes or no questions, but those that require students to think. For example, â€Å"What would you do in this particular situation? How would you approach solving this problem?† Reflective questions are difficult and will require time to think, so be prepared to wait for an answer. Endure the silence. 6.  Get Them Writing Rather than simply pose a discussion question, ask students to write about the question first for three to five minutes, then solicit their responses. The benefit of asking students to consider the question in writing is that they will have time to think through their response and feel more comfortable discussing their views without fear of forgetting their point. Asking students to work with the course content and determine how it fits with their experiences enables them to learn in their own way, making the material personally meaningful, which is at the heart of active learning. In addition to the educational  benefits, breaking up a lecture and interspersing it with discussion and active learning takes the pressure off of you as the instructor. An hour and 15 minutes, or even 50 minutes, is a long time to talk. Its also a long time to listen.  Try these techniques and vary your strategies to make it easier on everyone and increase your likelihood of success in the classroom.
